Journal Overview
The Ethiopian Journal of Health and Biomedical Sciences (EJHBS) is a premier, open-access, multidisciplinary journal and the flagship publication of the University of Gondar. We are dedicated to advancing evidence-based knowledge and providing a global platform for the "Ethiopian Perspective" in the health and biomedical sciences.
Scope and Focus
EJHBS prioritizes high-quality research that addresses the unique challenges of Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). We seek to bridge the gap between bench science and bedside application in the following domains:
- Public and Global Health: Epidemiology, health systems, equity, and environmental health.
- Clinical Sciences: Innovative patient care, surgery, and medical education.
- Biomedical Sciences: Pharmacology, microbiology, biochemistry, and drug development.
- Health Policy & Innovation: Quality improvement and resource-constrained healthcare solutions.
Rigorous Peer Review & Neutrality
To ensure the highest scholarly standards, EJHBS employs a Double-Blind Peer Review process.
- Institutional Firewall: While hosted by the University of Gondar, EJHBS maintains strict editorial independence. Manuscripts from host-institution authors are managed by external editors and evaluated by independent reviewers from outside the university to ensure impartial decision-making.
- Evaluation Criteria: Articles are assessed on methodological rigor, ethical compliance (IRB), and their potential to impact global health policy.
Article Types
We welcome a diverse range of scholarly contributions:
- Original Research & Systematic Reviews/Meta-Analyses
- Clinical Case Reports & Protocols/Methodologies
- Editorials, Commentaries, and Brief Communications
Open Science Commitment
EJHBS operates as a Platinum Open Access journal. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. This model ensures that research is freely available to read, download, and redistribute globally without barriers, fostering maximum "citedness" and scientific impact.
Submission & Management
All submissions are managed through our secure online portal. Authors are required to provide ORCID iDs to ensure global visibility and correct attribution of their scholarly work.
